Reflect on Mary’s story:
Luke 1:26-56
Sometime after receiving the news that she was pregnant with God, Mary breaks out in song, marveling that she—a young peasant girl—could hold the mystery of Christ within her body!
Here’s a selection from Mary’s prayer, called The Magnificat:
Full prayer here.
Oh, how my soul praises the Lord.
How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!
For he took notice of his lowly servant girl,
and from now on all generations will call me blessed.
For the Mighty One is holy,
and he has done great things for me.
Luke 1:46-49 (NLT)
Sometimes, in response to God, all we can do is be awed like Mary—and break out in praise!
For within us, we, too, carry Christ—the Savior of the world!
In wonder, let us meditate on this mystery.
And praise the One who holds us while we carry him within!
Pray:
Oh, how my soul praises the Lord.
How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!
For he took notice of his lowly servant girl,
and from now on all generations will call me blessed.
For the Mighty One is holy,
and he has done great things for me.
Luke 1:46-49 (NLT)
